on older hydraulic clutch vehicles the slave was on the outside of the bell housing so you could do a slave swap out real cheap.. about $20 for the part and about 30 minutes labor.. now you have to pull out the engine and trans. to take the trans. apart to get in there... those front wheel drive vehicles are an added expense for the car owner... the engineers who designed them did so for a cheaper way of making the cars so the manufacturer would make more money.. they did not car or consider the cost of repairs....
