As much as I love the viper, that could very well just be attributed to tires. I'd still prefer the viper over the GT40 as it out performs/performs close to the same in all factors as the GT40 and it costs less. There is something about the viper's torque (and it's curve) that make it impossible not to love.

Not to hijack the thread but the GT runs a 12.70 to the vipers 12.77 in the 1/4 according to Motor Trend. Don't have the issue in front of me but can post trap speeds if needed later. This was the 04' SRT-10. Apples to oranges though when comparing an 8.x liter v-10 to a 5.4 v-8 albeit s/c'ed v-8 but still.

Can't find my issue with the comparison,,,, but back of motortrend lists both as 11.8 1/4 mile time with the GT having a slightly higher trap speed.

Car and Driver lists the Viper at 12.1 seconds at 121 mph 1/03 issue so I have to think those Motor Trends times are supposed to be 1-second quicker
But I recall the GT40 in the head to heads beating the Viper in the 1/4 by like 1/10th of a second.
