The pattern of the flashing actually indicates a code. As in three flashes, a pause, then two flashes. As usual, get the code and post it here
Also
don't worry about it deploying. When a fault is detected the airbag is completely disabled so it won't go off. Without knowing the code I'd say off the top of my head one of the sensors has probably gone bad.
