I have two 10 inch AudioBahn Flame Compression Subs . I am debating on buying the Boss "POWERDRIVE" 2-Channel High Current 2000 Watts x2 @ 1/2 ohm... or the AudioBahn 2-Channel High Current Amplifier 1200 Watts x2 @ 1 ohm. How would I wire for 1/2 ohm if I went with the boss? And how would I wire for 1 ohm if i went for the audiobahn? I have no clue about ohms or how they work. Any help would do wonders. Oh and what guage wire should i use for either setup??? Thanks very much!

Assuming that these are 4 ohm subs, you could get 2 ohms by connecting them in parallel. You can't get anything lower than that with two 4-ohm subs.

I feel the need to clarify....first of all, Ohms are a measure of resistance, so you using the word in the wrong context when you say you don't understand Ohms. Any ways, Brian is right...there really isn't a practical way you can achieve a 1/2 ohm resistance with that setup nor would you want to in my opinion. I guess it could be done if you had some way to parallel an additional resistance (about 0.66 Ohms)up to your two subs to achieve a total resistance of 0.5 Ohms, but that just wouldn't work in this type of application.

Ok, thanks. I knew that ohm is the measure of resistance, I just didnt understand how u can change it through the way you wire. Im prolly gonna go with the audiobahn then. Thanks!

I just looked at AudioBahn's Home page . My subs are 1 ohm or 4 ohm stable. So If I decided to go with the AudioBahn, can you explain how to wire it . I want to go 1200 watts x 2 @ 1 ohm stereo. The subs are Dual 2 Ohm Voice Coils. I dont know crap about this stuff. Im trying to learn, but also dont want to blow my subs to [censored]. All I need is a simple drawing from paint or something that shows an idiot like me how to wire it. Thanks for you help guys.

I understand how to wire that, Would it be 4 ohms? I mean, you know alot more about this than me, on the audiobahn site, it said either 4 ohm or 1 ohm stable, or is it not possible with those amp/subs??? or is that 1 ohm? Here is the link: http://www.audiobahninc.com/products/woofers/flameCompression.html

And this amp is 2 channel, would I need to bridge it?

Ah, I see in that LITTLE chart that your subs have a Dual 2 ohm voice coil, so you'll have to disreguard that picture above. Anyway, you won't be able to get 1 ohm operation out of them, it will either be .5 ohm, 4 ohm, or 8 ohm.
