Some solder, heat shrink tubing, and an hour of your time = big improvement. It's worth every penny of the $20 kit from Crutchfield.

did they charge you $45.00 for the harness? they sold it too me and then i looked at the clips and notice there wasn't a square plug for the amp harness....i've heard they carry it but i had no such luck...i took it back and ordered the one from crutchfield for $15.00.....saved some bucks!!!! should have it tomorrow. laugh

No, I didn't pay for the $45 harness, I just paid $15 for the normal one because I wanted to get the CD player installed that day. I plan on getting the one from Crutchfield soon. Let me know how the install goes.

the factory amp bypass harness is a snap, just connect(slice, solder, whatever you choose) the wires (from the by-pass harness)to the wires coming from your new head unit. the factory amp is behind the glove box. just remove the interior trim cover from underneath the glove box and you'll see it. it is mounted vertically and the plug closest to the drivers side is the the one you want..it is rectangular...plug it in and that is it...if you have a hard time running the wire from behind the glove box to the head unit....open your glove box and you can fish the wires up to you head unit....

good luck
