Thick chains use thick adjusters, slides, and sprockets.
Both sprockets slide right on the end of the crank just as the thin ones do. No mods needed.

Whatever you do make sure you do not interchange any of the parts.
Normally the older sprockets are 1 piece while the new sprockets are 2 piece.
