I rear ended a lady ( ) and broke one of my headlights. I got a new one through the insurance. Now the other one looks like crap. I really don't want to sand, etc, so I looked on the net and found one from 1001headlight.com for $107.81 plus shipping. Everybody else is $30 to $40 more so I'm wondering--anyone ever buy from these people? Is this too good to be true?

yes it is, the aftermarket light supposedly doesnt have the same beam pattern and doesnt match when compared to the oem one, also there have been some fitment issues with them

Thanks. I guess I'll go with Mr. Jenkins. At least then I'll know I got the right stuff.

I purchased a replacement from 1001headlights.com and had very little in the way of fitment problems. It was tight, but I didn't have to force anything as far as I remember. As far as beam pattern, I can't tell much of a difference between the stock and replacement light, but I have to admit both headlights aren't aimed properly right now
The one downside I've heard of is that the aftermarket lights supposedly haze and yellow quicker than OEM. I haven't had my replacement long enough for that to happen yet, so I can't say whether its true or not.

That headlight for $107.00 is probably a reproduction and will no doubt have a fitment problem, I know, I have the reproduction ones on my car (mine say DEMO on them) I think you'd be better off looking in junkyards for a good one This is a good time to upgrade your bulbs, if you haven't done so already and don't forget to change out your turn signal bulbs while your in there

There's 3 driver's side ones on eBay right now. One you can Buy It Now for only 25 bucks. Yep, that's it. I wish I wasn't looking for a passenger side

I went ahead and ordered one from Bill Jenkins. The site wasn't working right (as far as the headlights were concerned) and Bill answered my e-mail personally. What a guy!! Anyway, I feel better doing it this way simply because I now know you get what you pay for--old saying but usually true. I'm gonna get Silverstars and if you check my site, you'll see my turn signals are GREEN.

I can't fault you for that. Like I said, I haven't had any problems with the non-OEM headlight, but I can understand wanting to go with OEM on that one.
