How did you fit 6x9s in your doors? I have some Pioneer 6x9s I had in my Camaro that I wanted to put in my car since I kinda blew up the rear speakers. And I also have a set of 6x9 Pioneers I had in my Sundance I want to put up front. What all was involved in cramming them into your doors?

I have 6X9's and all I had to do was drill new wholes in the door and screwed them in.

For the fronts, all you have to do is drill new holes. (Unless they are really deep, then you'll need a spacer.)

For the rears, I had to grind away some of the door where the bracing on the speaker was. Some people instead cut/ground the door handle brace, but i wanted to leave that.

Overall, not a bad job. I have pics of the door panels off if you'd like to see them.

Yeah can I see the pics? Do you have any pics showing what part you are talking about that I have to grind/cut?

It is the metal bracket where the handle screws into. It sits tright on the edge of the hole.

Ok, finally found em.

I actually ground out about where I marked in blue, so the speaker bracing could slid in. That will vary depending on the speaker, of course. Most people, however, grind that handle piece away, as marked in green. smile
