i've got a 96 GL 'tour with the same problem. CEL codes with "Insuffecient(spelling) EGR Airflow".
I had bought a whole new EGR valve and replaced it myself. i still got the CEL so i took it to a Diagnostics guy. He cleaned out the whole EGR system, and still i get the CEL every once in a while.
i just stopped worrying(spelling? obviously i didn't do good in english class
) about it. then again...i'm not trying to make mine performance or nothing. i'm just trying to afford college right now!
