That is exactly the solution to my problem. I noticed on my wiring harness that there is a wire for amp. on, but there is not a wire on my new radio for amp on. only power antenna up. I looked at my Ford "amp." and it looks like a pain in the a$$ to remove or bypass (atleast for an idiot like myself). Is there any other way to connect the amp. on wire to anything else inorder to make it work? - Possibly to the antenna up wire (if the signal is the same). Sorry if it's a dumb question, but I don't (and rarely ever do) know what I'm doing.

Bypass is easy. Call Crutchfield at (888) 955-6000 and order their kit. Shouldn't take more than an hour for even a car audio newbie.
