The window would go up and down so I thought the switch was ok. Thanks guys. Bill Jenkins I am moving to Team Ford as of 08/01/05 (www.teamfordlv.com). I will post new info when it's ready.

fordceggl CEG\'er F Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 123	Same problem with my 96 Contour GL drivers side power windows I put it down one day and it would not go back up just made a clicking nosie.But just the drivers side window all the other windows work when contorled by the main driver side switch. I took the gray cover off, pulled out the switch i little bit then turn the switch a little bit towards the hood while holding in the up button then all of the sudden the drivers window went up. It was wierd since all i did was up the swicth while holding in the drivrs side up button then it went up. So what i did was turned the switch once around. drivers side window works and it never happened again. I know twisting the wires did not seem like a good idea for me but it worked. This happen to me about 3yrs ago. So since then the power windows work great. 1996 Contour GL 187,000 8 mods made

Avey CEG\'er A Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 70 Mississauga, Ontario Canada	Not to bump up on old thread but this may help some people, it seems that one of the pins on the white connector that plugs into the power window switch deteriorates over time from heat. I bent it back into shape and my window is working well now. One side of the pin broke off so I am gonna fix it properly later, atleast it's working now. So if your car is doing the same thing try this first. 96 Mystique Black On Tan V6 MTX Port Matched 01 3L, 2.5L Cams, 2.5" Exhaust Optimized y-pipe, SVT clutch, Superchips, 3L split port LIM, SVT UIM, Intake, Mustang 65mm TB, MSDS Headers. 2X95SEs_dup1 Veteran CEG\'er 2 Joined: Oct 2000 Posts: 770 Houston, Texas	Mine acted stupid last year. All it ended up being was the gasket on the outside. The gasket also guides the window into the slot so when it shifted a little the window bound up and stopped. I took the gasket off, cleaned up the slot it goes into and then superglued gel the gasket back in.
