Class D is used for Bass for efficiency, but also they cant produce frequencies above 200Hz for the fact that power supply "switching" frequency wont allow it. That and most have built in Low Pass filters. A Class D that plays full range is a Class T. Where they came up with this "classifiaction" for T though is anyones guess.
