well after reading how to a million times, and looking at pictures i still dont see the hole on the mtx. im thinking maybe i need to take those wipers off and unbolt the plastic piece its attached to(the plastic with lots of slot vents in it between the hood and windshield) is it under that? or not? no one's ever explained what a wiper cowl actually is so i dont know what to look for i cant find a single hole in the engine bay, if someone could show me in person im sure it'd be no problem, but thats not gonna happen and none of my friends have 'tours

Definition--> Cowl: The top portion of the front part of an automobile body, supporting the windshield and dashboard.
Yes, the hole is located underneath the wiper cowl (the black plastic cover with slots) and it is on the driver's side of the car. You cannot miss it (don't forget, it has a black, rubber grommet covering it)

I ran 8awg but 4awg would be no harder....just make a bigger hole in the grommet for the wire to go through.

anyone think running 4 and 8 ga wire from the battery for 2 amps is a bad idea? seems to be cheaper (and less of a hassle) than using a distribution block on 2 ga wire.
i dont see why it could b bad :-D

A single 4 gauge wire is plenty for multiple amps. I have two amps running over 1200 watts on four gauge with no problems. Also running two wires to the trunk isn't less of a hassle it is more! Thirdly there is a reason that people use distribution blocks...for wiring multiple amps and protecting them with additional fuses. Besides a distribution block jutifies itself when two fuse holders near the battery are close to the same price but lack that extra protection that a distribution block offers

Yeah, but I plan on running about 1500watts. Distribution block it is then!
