Just about to buy my new setup for my trunk. I have two Rockford amps in my trunk now and was wondering should I just keep them or buy Phoenix Gold instead.

Are you happy with the RFs? If so, keep them. I would put most of PGs amps in the same class as RF, maybe a little bit better.

If you aren't happy with the RFs, what dont you like about them?

I personally haven't used Rockford Fosgate or Phoenix Gold amplifiers. However, I have heard my fair share of bad comments from end users regarding R.F. amps. Most users I've talked to praise P.G. amps. Note - That doesn't mean your amps are a problem. What made you post the question? Are you unhappy with the R.F. amps?

BTW, if i were you and didn't already have the RFs, I would choose the PGs without question. I was just trying to protect your investment because car audio equipment has horrible resale values.

BTW, yesterday i got my PG (the one everybody were flaming about cool ) and it comes with Test Certificate, showing test results for my unit (of cause they are better than published wink ) I was impresed, but it's my first car-audio amp.
For Home Theater i have Nakamichi AV8 and it doesn't come with any test certificates

What were the test results? I'm sort of curious.

Which RF amps do you have? Which PG amps were you thinking of upgrading to? I think that may affect everyone's opinion on which one you should go with. I would hate to suggest getting rid of a bd1500 to get a lower watt PG. IMHO, PGs newer amps look really nice. I hate that RF just changes the look of the heatsink/housing and says it's brand new. I have a pair of 120@2s(the black and silver triangular style ones) and when they came out with the rounded ones a RF dealer tried to convince me the "new" 120.2s are more powerful than mine. What a dumb@$$.

I am running with 3 P.G amps in my car, and I absolutely love them. Excellent quality, very durable, and they can push a lot of juice. I have last year's XS line (two XS 2300's and an XS 2500). They don't make them anymore, tehy were replaced with the Tantrum. Basically the same amps, just a little fancier looking, and more power options available.

Like everyone else said, whats making you think of changing them, not happy with sound? I've never owned one myself, but one thing I have noticed is that many places seem to sell ones that have been refurbished, and that's not a good sign. For that reason alone, I would go with PG instead. But hey if they're not giving you any trouble, why not just keep them.
