While gas is relatively cheap, I still use 15% of my paycheck for gas. That's quite a lot. Granted, I don't make much, but $150-200 a month is a lotta dough.
You also have to realize that people in Europe don't have to drive NEARLY as far as we do here in the U.S. Smaller engines, diesel being 20% less expensive than gas, and etc., $70 to fill up a Mondy isn't that ridiculous.
If gas hits $5 a gallon here, color me broke. OF course, I doubt it will ever happen because of the serious economic impact it would have.

It's $1.49 regular here and $1.69 for 93... and I gotta fill up tomorrow,, I always fill from a 1/4 tank, so I'm looking at about a $17-$18 fill-up depending how my favorite pump is treating me.

No, gas prices don't need to be raised (i.e., taxed higher). Government salaries need to be based on how much under-budget they finish projects. Salaries for Congressmen need to be based on how much they save their districts.
The sheer amount of waste I see in the government accounts I service simply boils my blood. It's not a lack of tax money that's the problem, is the runaway waste in all levels of government that has been growing...

Chevron made a good bit higher profit than they did last year,,, that tells you gas prices could be lower,, but why would they lower them when they can get better profits,, after all we're all gotta keep buying it,,, and it all boils down to OPEC reducing supply, etc. Like they're not rich enough.

Diesel over here in Sunny England actualy Now Costs more than Petrol (due to the uptake on diesels for company car owners)
£40 ($70) to fill up my Mondeo is Ridiculous IMO
but then its easy to dismiss when you don't have to live with it

Premium is north of $2.00/gallon here. I'd gladly pay $4 per gallon if we had better roads and it kept more people with Stupid User Vehicles off the road....

WOW 1.92 in USD hey. That's kinda expensive consider there are so many oil refiners around here. Damn I can look out my window and see shell, and petro plants.
