Spun rod bearing are usually not an issue with the regular duratecs. It's usually the Svt's that have that problem. I have not seen a regular 2.5 yet with a spun rod bearing due to oil starvation.
they say to much oil can get whiped up by the crank and airation can occur but i figure theres a 1/2 quart in the filter and probably a quart circulating throu the engine while its running at idle that would leave about 5 1/2 quarts in the pan,also i race alot and when the engine is running abouve 5000 rpm through the quarter mile at the end of the track there might only be a quart left in the sump.
