That sudden loss of power was a rod bearing spinning most likely.

It may have reseated but I would be saving up for a 3L swap.

Even at 6 qts the oil pan has very little oil in it above 6000rpm. At 5 qts it was most likely empty.

If you go full 3L swap you get the 3 extra oil drains they added to help that problem. (hybrids do not! )
