I have a 98 e0 SVT and mine had the white one let go at around 85K while I was on a trip to disneyworld. Pretty easy to change even in a parking lot, but for the price and convienence, you might just want to take it apart and verify a metal impeller or if it is plastic, buy a new one with the metal to be safe.
