passive jammers are legal, those are the ones that turn on only when they detect a signal, which means it trys to scramble the laser/radar on the way back to the gun, i would give it a 25% effectiveness. Howewver, active jammers are illegal, they scramble any radar/laser signal that comes near it because it is always on. The laser scramblers work with lEDs mounted in the bumper that confuse the laser by showing it more than one read, these are illegal everywhere and so are active radar scramblers. If you buy a detector get an Escort Passport 8500 or a V1.
