Well the sychros were so bad I had no money to fix it so its gone for a new blue ecotec cavalier. Before you hate me hear me out. To boost a cavalier its pretty dang cheap and I bought the base model which weight nothing. I saw one run stock last year 15.2@83mph. It was fast than my SVT that day. Oh well, I left all the parts on it so anyone wants a nice modded SVT its in cincy on Rt.50

Let me see if I got this right, a $2K repair for the trans/clutch upgrade was worse than buying an aging platform car thats being replaced next year. On top of that, do you think the trans can handle the S/C upgrade, come on now I don't know anyone who'd take a brand new Cavalier over a CSVT that just needs a HMS tranny upgrade, plus you've got mods done to your ride, I don't get it, sorry

Man HMS wanted 2500 to do my car out the door. I dont have that $$$ RIGHT now and the tranny was pretty much done. The ecotec motor is stronger than the SVT motor with boost and has at least 3 kits out there for under 3k. With Getrag(?) tranny I wont have the problems I had with my SVT tranny. They gave me 5,500 with the tranny going bye-bye. IT had all the below mods with 85k on it. I am sorry to see it go but you have to see from my point of view. A college student, cheaper insurance, 87 gas instead of 93or 94, 60k warranty. I couldnt pass it up. I've been putting it off trading the SVT in but I just couldnt find anyone to help me with the clutch install and it was just to big of a job alone. Its a Mike Castrucci Chevy on Rt.50 in milford, Ohio. Check out jbody.org before you start killing my little ecotec. Like I said before base ecotec to stock SVT I was beaten. Their 60' times will kill any SVT. My best was a 2.3 and that still only netted a 15.5. Gotta go with the lighter car.

Well, it's time to change your sig . Well I understand why you did it. Those MTX-75's are crap as well as the CD4E's. Why does ford put in 2 good motors but crappy tranny's. Are they that cheap for making their product better?? And yes thats why they stopped making our cars.

Bulls**t. There's plenty of people around here that have run (and continue to) fairly large amounts of HP through that trans with no issues. Problem is there are too many people around here who think it's a drag-racing trans and beat the crap out of it. Keep grinding gears and sychros going out prematurely?? Don't shift so damn fast. Let the damn synchro spin up so it can do its job...
As far as trading the SVT in on the Cavalier, whatever floats your boat. I've got no problem with it. What I do wonder is this:
"I can run 87 octane as opposed to 93-94" Once you go forced induction all of that goes out the window. Run cheap gas on a turbocharged application and put your foot into it and you're gonna have issues. And if a $2500 bill to repair your trans was too much money, how're you gonna get the money to pay for a turbo kit and the necessary upgrades??
"60K warranty..." You gonna wait until then to throw the turbo on there? 'Cause the Chevy dealer will laugh you out of the service lane if you try and get powertrain stuff covered. And those are the big-ticket items that would make the 60K warranty worthwhile in the first place.
I just think you were tired of the SVT and got rid of it. There's no shame in that. You don't need to come at guys in here with a laundry list of reasons that seem suspect in the first place. Just my $0.02...
