How am I blinded by its looks when I say it performs well? I can only wish I was blind, then I wouldn't ever have to see its ugly body. Life does go on,,, though some of our's go on thinking about more than just performance.
You are blinded by it's "bad looks" as you would say. I do think about more then performance but when buying a performance oriented car isn't that priority number 1?

I'm not disagreeing with you about the performance numbers of the car. I'd like to see you defend your statements instead of resorting to namecalling and ignoring the points I am disputing.

When I was at the car shows a few weeks back I took a look at the EVO and the STI and the SRT-4. All my opinions (as you read these please remember that I am only 5 foot 10 inches tall) and I did not test drive any of them just sat in them. EVO - Inside - Crappy interior. The inside felt even cheaper than my contour in the console area. The seats were ok to sit in but my head hit the ceiling when I tried to sit up straight in the seat (are they building all cars for midgets these days(no offence meant to those midgets who fit fine in the car(all 25 of them))) I played around with the HVAC controls and hated the way they felt also. Outside - I wanted to like this car because I liked the specs and what I had read about it. I looked at it and the front end was not so bad but the back end needs something done with it. If you remove the altezz looking tail lights and replace them with regular tail lights and remove the wing it does not look nearly as bad. SRT-4 I went in hoping to like this one also since it will be the only one of these that is likely to be in my price range new the next time I have to shop for cars. I like the price of this one but that was about all. Inside - This felt even cheaper than the EVO (I dont know how but it was posible) This was another one that my head hit the ceiling of when I tried to sit up straight in the seat. And the radio  I thought the stock radio in the ford was ok as far as looks go but this one just made me think I would need to replace it right away. Outside - It still looks like it is saying HI! and no matter what neon I see that ad has been burned into my brain and I alwasy think of it. It looks like somebody was building it trying to get attention I would rather have a car that looks more normal while still being fast than one that tries to look like it is fast even if it does have the balls to back it up. STI Inside - This is the only one of the three that I could fit in without hiting my head when I sat up straight. It felt a bit cheap inside but not as bad as the other two. Outside - I dont like the wing on the back end but other that that and the hood scoop that I dont like that much (yes I know it is functional) it was pretty good looking. Of course you may not like my opinion either but I thought I would go ahead and toss it in while people are talking about these cars.

If this car was Oh so great, how come we have no Mitsu CEG Trolls?
We have Audi, Acura, Ford, Eagle, Mazda, Subaru, VW, etc. No Mitsu, not even a lancer rally Ed

Actually we have/had though jared wasn't welcomed greatly on the boards. He bought a lancer to replace his contour and then leasing a ranger in addition to his eclipse,, I converse with him occasionally on AIM.
And moxnix, doesn't putting your opinion down at all, but I'm a little over 5' 10" and fit fine in a srt4 (maybe you sat in one with the viper type seats, and maybe it sits different)... I do have a slight problem with the srt4's clutch placement, though it's not too bad and I'm sure racers would enjoy it, I just like to sit further back and the clutch won't allow me to do that and I was banging my knee occasionally when shifting.

I don't remember the type of seats it had just whatever was as the DC/Baltimore car shows (I went to one of each) I do have short legs and a long torso. My inseam is only 30 inches.

I'll have to admit the EVO 8 is butt FUGLY nasty looking. I really like the comment about it being as quick (don't agree about "fast") as it is ugly... Absolutely Excellent point!!!  It is really an awesome performing platform bar none. (I have driven previous versions in Japan  ) Too bad that is took the way of the WRX (driven a previous version on that too  ) and when it moved from the JDM to US market it got stupid looking in the process. I agree that they did a great disservice to the platform in doing so...
