It figures that the same people that think the Contour SVT is a sexy car believe the EVO is the most hideous thing they've ever seen. I've heard Camaro drivers that think our car is complete crap. I used to think that, too, until I saw it enough times and drove its homelier younger cousin, the Mercury Mystique, around enough as a daily driver to appreciate its nuances.

In my opinion, both the EVO VIII and the SRT-4 are both very sexy cars--and well done, in my opinion, on everything but the ricer-boy interior (I suppose I'm more of a fan of my ass resting on leather when I'm driving, rather than foam or cloth). But I also recognize that every car has its shortcomings.

However, I think the problem here is that most of you folks that can make claim that a blue oval Ford Contour or Focus SVT are years ahead of the EVO or SRT-4 in looks are actually not looking at the car at all: you're starring at the whore behind the makeup:

If everyone had an opinion like that, Picasso would have never been famous and we'd all still be listening to classical music, or climbing trees and flinging crap at each other.

With that I say get the Evo if it's what you want. 10 years from now you'll probably end up driving a van anyways (kid's suck).
