Why?

The bulb is only $4.00 or $5.00 from a dealership complete with the bulb holder. Remove the clock from the dash (super easy unless you have a Mystique, and even then not very hard). Remove the bulb and bulb holder by twisting 1/4 turn with a small screwdriver. Transfer over the green sleeve from the old bulb (if equipped). Twist in the new bulb and reinstall the clock.

Even if you are slow it should not take more than 5 minutes.

This has been posted many times before.

www.partsexpress.com

They come in a package of 10 for less than $2.00 for the package.

Edit:
I just tried to find the bulb covers at Parts Express and could not find them. As far as I can remember, the part number may have been 070 082. Perhaps you can check with them to see if they are still available.

Also perhaps someone from our Forums that purchased the minimum of 10 may have some left over and is willing to share.

2nd edit:
Don't forget the "-" with the part number. 070-082. That is why I couldn't find it a moment ago. Thanks to gearhead98 for finding the part number.

If it's same as the third brake light bulb holders, you should be able to work the old bulb out somehow (my mom did mine) and then put the new one in easily, bulb for third brake light and presumably this is number 74 at parts store.

I think the bulb is crimped into it's socket?

You can get twist-in instrument cluster bulb sockets which might fit in the clock. They're usually either in the HELP! rack or by the rest of the bulb sockets.

Well my clock light is burned out so I really should look at it, but I've heard it's exactly the same as the third brake lights and if so,, then it can (with some work) be removed and replaced with bulb number 74. Hey and if anyone uses that bulb number, you can thank our old friend CBM as he's actually the one that told me the number when I needed it for the third brake light.
