Before I start, I looked at the FAQ about this problem but it was only for 95-97 Tours. Plain and simple, my clock light is not illuminating. I can see it during the day, but at night, I see nothing. What can I do about this?

It's for your's too..... you can do the LED thing or get the bulb from parts store and have fun getting the old one out of the little holder,, it can be done even though it seems impossible.

Take a very thin screwdriver or the equivalent and gently pry it into the oval faceplate to pop out the clock assembly. Then turn and pull the bulb and socket out. John

u blew the bulb. i replaced mine per the how to and it worked great. soldering it was kinda tricky cuz it kept moving. i tested the bulb touching both contacts and it didnt make a difference. no polarity as far as i can tell. just try to keep it centered

Somebody could make a few bucks by offering a bulb changing service for these clocks. Send in your old clock plus a few bucks and get your clock back in a week with a new bulb. Any takers?

where exactly can you buy a bulb? I popped mine out last night and was going to check radioshack but will they have it?

any auto parts store. just get the one listed in the how to. the pre98s arent replacement bulbs, hence the how to so u dont have to buy a new clock

its really not too difficult. dont know if anyone would pay to do it but i'll do it if anyone is willing to pay. i have no idea what i'd charge. shipping alone would seem to be a dealbreaker.

the dealer wanted about $5 for a new bulb.. it comes on the small plastic piece that holds it into the back of the clock.. i took a generic bulb from auto zone and bend the wires on the back of the bulb and shoved it into the metal clip on the back of the plastic holder.. it lasted for about a month.. i then tried to solder it to the metal thats pressed into the plastic part.. the metal is not steel but alum.. so the solder would not hold on it.... got disgusted and just spendt the $5 and that was 6 months ago and no problem.......
