basically you'll need a post 98 cluster since everything EXEPT the tach will not work. The speedo doesnt work at all and the gas gauge will read backwards if you install the wrong cluster.

I don't think I've ever heard of a "Cable Driven" tachometer.

Let me search for the how-to I used....brb

The wiring is different, since we hooked our tach signal wire directly to the tach itself, it will work no matter what.

im so confused. NOTHING will work right? wtf? i got a v4 and i want a v6 w/ tach cluster from a post 98. so what is the real answer?? is nothing going to work right or is everything going to work right but the tach?

If you have a post 98 you need the cluster from a post 98...Everything will work. I have a V6 cluster in my Tour and it works great. The only thing is the V6 tach will not read right on the Zetecs, but if it's just for show thats fine.

Hector had a full SVT V6 cluster in his tour, but recently swapped out just the tach for a Zetec one he found at the junkyard, hence he's making a weak attempt at busting my balls about it

I ordered my cluster from http://www.car-parts.com for $45.00 shipped if that helps at all.

just get the cluster and make sure it's from a post 98 if thats what you have, once you get it, we'll make sure you get it in and working.

ok thanx. i just found one on ebay but he said its from a 97/98 so im assuming thats pre-98..?
