The best thing to do, is burn them at 1X. This will let the laser burn the path deeper, allowing the HU to read the peaks and valleys better. I still have my stock HU.

Maybe its the actual discs..yamaha pro series actually use the same silvery surface as store bought audio Cd's..try some higher quality discs, with labels, and make sure you finalize the disc too
