Hi guys. I am freaking out here and could use all the advice you can give. dnewma04, you would probably know this right off the bat. Here goes:

Those of you unfamiliar with my setup, in the back of my Ty is a pair of 15" Cerwin-Vega Strokers, in their required huge-ass ported box. Here is a lookie-see...


Anyway, here is why I am so flipped out. Normally the truck lives in a heated/AC garage, but since i am up at college, it sits outside in a parking lot. As normal in Rochester NY, it snowed like hell yesterday. I popped open the rear window to get out my ice scraper this morning and a pool of water that formed on the edge of the roof spilled right in on my right sub! I mean like at least a few ounces of it! of all places to hit it went right onto the spider, and i panicked and soaked it up with my shirt sleeve.

A couplw weeks ago my fuse blew, so the system is down for now. when i get that fuse is that right sub going to blow? anything i need to worry about or do???

just make sure its dried up and you should be fine

i had some beer get spiiled over on my house speakr and went all over my speakers. i took em out of the box dried em up and cleaned me out.. works fine.

I'd be a little scared as well. Normally, with a poly cone or kevlar treated cone it wouldn't be an issue, but I believe the spider is a fabric based material. If it soaked through, you could have some issues with corrosion on the VC. I would probably take it out of the enclosure and let it dry out indoors for a few days.

I hope it's still good. Not a cheap replacement....

Spiders usually have very small holes, if a large puddle of water fell directly on it, it is possible for small amounts of water to drip right through. Take it out of the box and keep it a warm place, maybe even turing the woofer over making sure there is no large amounts of water in there. Once it dries it should be fine. corrosion should not be a factor since the coil is coated with adhesives.

thanks for the replies...now i am really worried.

it is still snowing. and sleeting. and raining. there is nowhere for me to go so that i can be indoors to remove it. if i do it outside now it will probably get worse. as soon as a nice day comes along i am going to take her out and inspect it from the warmth of my own room. i just hope it doesn't start ****ing up the voice coils before then....
