He just installed the new rear last week. We pulled it into his yard for the photos, and back it went. He's all pissy though that he can't find replacement original-style rear lenses. he wants to get rid of the covers. GM allows reproduction of the left lens, but noth the right. And we thought ford can be f*****d up.

Color was a custom mix that he had bought extra of in little jars for touch up work.

The only connection this car has to my original Contour, a '95 GL 4-banger, is the blue glass medallion hanging from his mirror. This guy has been my mechanic for years and we gre up together, and when my first 'tour was totaled, he was just starting to work on the car. It was just a body, stripped and primed when I first saw it.

I gave him the medallion (it's got this little holy symbol embedded in it) for his car. He wound up having his paint color mixed to partially match it. The car actually is darker than it looks, very similar tot he blue that the '95 'tours were available in.

So, there's a little Ford in that thar Chevy.

Talk about Disco car....since he rebuilt it from the ground up and it looks clean, I'll give him a thumbs up.

That reminds me a lot of a sweet PPG pace car camaro we had as a show car in the auto shop where I took my automotive technology classes back when I started college. That car rocked, had a cage, harnesses and definitely had some ballz. We only started it up once or twice, and the instructor gave a little um, power demo, in the parking lot. PPg decided they wanted it back though, so they took it and gave us an Intrepid Pace Car instead, which was pretty sweet in itself.
