This is absolutely TRUE.
I ALWAYS run better times if I can hotlap. This keeps the pipes hot and air moving through the intercooler to prevent heatsoak. There are other factors such as tire temps and so on that also benefit from hotlapin. But with a turbo, heat is very very very important. Night and day difference in performance from EGT's at 600-700 and 1000-1100. Go figure!
