So far I see that Street Flight makes a Turbo Kit (http://www.streetflight.com/turbokits.htm) for the Contour V6 that sells for $5K. And Thomas Knight that makes a superchager kit (http://www.boosthead.com/product.php) for the V6 2.5L engine that sells for $2K. Are there any other options? Knight offers a warranty where as Street Flight I can't tell. I would also rather spend 2K than 5K. Has anyone installed either of these? I would like to hear opinions.

Thanks,

Dan

1) Streetflight turbo
best forced induction system available for the V6 mtx contour. makes the most power, and is the most reliable, but it costs the most, you egt what you pay for!

2) vortech supercharger
cheaper than streetflight, makes ALOT less torque, has lots of problems with the shaft, doesnt have headers or an intercooler, to fix all these problems, it costs more than the streetflight setup, and still makes less power!

3) thomas knight supercharger
this is an electric supercharger that is pretty much like nitrous except it dont have to be refilled. it doesnt run all the time, only on short bursts with recharging time in between

The shaft on the Vortech has been corrected by Vortech. The new ones do not have the same problem. As far as tq goes....at least ur getting ur power right away while turbo people have to get their RPMs way up in order for the power to really start to kick in. Superchargers start working at 2000 RPM. and in my opinion (and i know people will hound me about this cuz they don't understand what opinion is) but turbos are for imports and superchargers are for domestics. turbos require custom headers and exhaust, turbo times for precision, and a sh!t load of work to get it in. I don't like turbos becuase i don't really like the sound of blow off valves, it gives away what u got. but that's just my opinion. so.....let the hounding begin (cuz i know it will anyway).

The street flight kit makes full boost at 2800 rpm's! When do you make full boost? And torque....Ill take the Street Flights 265+ fwtq vs. the Vortechs mere 210 fwtq anyday. Turbos do not require custom manifolds but they certainly do help. My friend with a stock motor Nissan Maxima and STOCK manifolds puts down 400 whp on his T3/T4 turbo setup. I can install my complete turbo kit without a problem without any serious headaches. There is no turbo lag with the Street Flight kit and while your still waiting to hit the rev limiter to make some power, we'll be waving to you! If people want to go with the Vortech kit, i congratuate them for doing so, but dont go bashing the Street Flight kit that is better overengineered kit for the contour. Frankly, what I think you've said is totally arrogant. Let the beatings begin.
