Im thinking about hooking up a set of infinity kappa components in the front. How much should I expect to pay to have them installed? I'm also considering the kappa 6x9 3-ways (693.3i) which I am guessing would be cheaper to install.

30 would be a good price if you can find it for that. I would expect something closer to 60.

We charge $55 for a surface mount tweeter/midrange combo. If you want them flushed in anything it will usually be more (to be determined by time involved)

I just put 693.3 in my car - so for your information - it's not just a straight replace of the stock speakers, whoever will be doing the installation will need to trim some metal off to make hole big enought for 6x9s, make sure they woudn't do a lousy job. 40$ sounds great for it - just ask them to put some dynamat where they will be mounting your speakers.

Hey Kirill, how'd those 693.3i's work out? Did you amp them? I don't know abut cutting metal though...

with an adaptor plate, you should be able to avoid sheet metal modification.

I don't run amp yet and i run Nakamichi CD-45Z headunit. Well, it sounds OK now, strong bass, clear highs, but usually sound quality increases after about 2 weeks of using speakers. I bought those because of good review on this board and absolutely useless setups in places like circuit city - all speakers there plays terrible. I was thinking of Polk DX9 - i am a Polk fan, but i heard that 693.3 should go fine to standard contour's places wink Yeph right wink

I don't think adaptor plate will work - when i tried speakers on a standard place - plastic door's cover wouldn't go back - what i ended up doing is cutting sheet metal on a door and putting speakers grill's support upside down, behind speaker - it added me about 3/4 clearance, so i didn't have to cut a hole very big.

guy mentioned he is got a green ones - so it may be that Infinity changed their model and new one doesn't fit that easy, or SE and SVT got different doors
