i have narrowed it way down, i really like the thought of a B5 Audi S4 in my driveway, i am still contemplating a saab 9-3 aero, and a new GTO crossed my mind, but i havnt seriously looked into one, i think the S4 is in 1st place right now, unless i can be persuaded otherwise, any input or alternative suggestions, i wont be getting anything until the spring.

If it's a toss up between just the ones mentioned I would say the S4 hands down. If your thinking about spending that kind of money you should also seriously consider the Infinity G35 coupe and Nissan 350Z. I saw a G35 coupe a few weeks ago with what looked like 19 in. rims and I almost crashed while staring at it.

i agree, the g35 is very nice, but i need 4 doors, mainly for insurance, but also for versatility.

The Saabs aren't that spectacular IMO. However, I agree with the S4, Niiiiiice!

Any vehicle in that market will not have great insurance rates. I wouldn't be so sure a S4 has lower rates than a G35C. Call for quotes before eliminating options if that is your only reason for not wanting a 2-dr.

I have regular access to a G35 Coupe and it is indeed a nice car. Firm ride, powerful motor, execellent handling, and good looks. The back seat is useless for adults and marginal for children.
Of the cars you are considering, the S4 is without a doubt the one to get, if you can afford it. In the world of sports sedans, it shares the top of the pedestal with the M3. The S4 has awesome performance, low-key looks, and a beautiful interior. The back seat is quite cramped, though. Still, it is a car to be admired by anyone who considers themselves to be an automotive enthusiast.

Seeing that your in SE MI and CT I'd go with the S4. What year S4 are you lookin' at BTW? The next choice would be the Saab but if you have a winter beater, I'd get the new G.T.O. over the Saab and possibly the S4, but I'd have to drive both of them first to see what they're really all about

Screams "sleeper" to me, especially since the interior is pretty lush for a GM, but what do I know?
BTW, I was following an Audi AllRoad last night, and was behind him as he made full-throttle takeoffs from lights. Sounded great, but oddly muffled.
