If anything it would decrease performance at tip in and after shifting since the cylinders do not receive it's cooling effect. Not too mention the PCM maxing spark advance (emissions programming) thinking the EGR was working would likely cause the knock sensor to kick in and retard timing for a short time while accelerating after a shift or decel.

He didn't quote you... Just because his reply is after yours, doesn't mean he's speaking directly at you. 
EGR does nothing for WOT, dyno proven many times over. The only reason not to have one would come from aethetic reasons, or in my case, to lazy to fabricate one up for the aluminum 3L UIM.
