OP FrankG Newbie F Joined: Oct 2003 Posts: 4	Hello All, I have a 98.5 SVT contour with the Duratec engine. THe manual says to "watch" the belt after 90,000 miles for wear. I have 101,000 miles now, the belt looks good, but should I change this to be safe. Will I puke the motor (valvetrain) if it snaps? Thanx

The belt you can see is a "Serpentine Accessory Belt" NOT a timing belt. (which you have since learned the Duratec does not have) I would most definitely change that belt if it has 100k on it. 2000 SVT #674 13.47 @ 102 - All Motor!
