I disagree. If you feel that you can "bend" the rules by saying that "it really isn't a competitive advantage" then you're wrong. Cheating is cheating. Class yourself right, and deal with that PAX. Contours aren't that competitive anyway; look at the national champs in GS and STS -- they're all in newest gen Celics GT's and 88-91 Civic Si's respectively. You'll never beat one of those that has a decent driver.

If you're not willing to play by the rules, then why play at all? Does a piece of wood on your wall that you came by *knowing* that you violated the rules give you any satisfaction? If so, that's sad.

In our car club, the STS year-long points winner admitted that he used illegal camber bolts in his Impreza RS instead of legal camber plates to save a couple of bucks. His argument was that his mods were "in the spirit of the rules" and he has lost several friends as a result. Try doing that stuff at a national event and watch for the results ...
