This is just ignorance supreme. You are attempting to show that a large percentage of police officers are drug dealers. That is simply not true. By far, that would be a very, very small minority. Please, a little truth and a lot less slander?

Do cops speed? Sure, sometimes they do. I wish HPD would drive a little faster on the freeways to clear up the friggin congestion they cause by going the limit. I speed and have no problem with officers that speed. Geez, do you really expect a police officer to pull over another patrol car? Sucks that it's just a perk for them. By using your logic, I'm furious that I have to go to the mall and pay full price for clothes, food, etc. when the employees get discounts. Get a clue.

OMG! That is such an ignorant thing to say that I really don't have any response.

But to make it sound like every cop in the world does that and they need to get off their "law enforcement high horses" because they're always breaking the laws too, is just an ignorant statement.
Maybe it's just me, but I don't hold the police to a different standard than I hold myself, as your average good citizen. But I have noticed that most people in this world are quite the hypocrits.
When did I ever say that EVERY cop does that? You want to talk about ignorance and hypocricy, then read your own posts.. Im stating a point that to see a police officer blazing through traffic with no lights on to warn other drivers is just plain stupid.. Ok, yes they should be pulling people over for that same reason, but where does it state that they are entitled to do so themselves? Ive seen way too many close calls with jackass police officers almost plowing into innocent drivers because they have some lights on their car and a badge to go along with it.. And for them to be able to double the speed limit because they are "trained", then does that mean that Rusty Wallace should be let go for going 70 in a 50 just because he is "trained" to handle a car going 200+mph? You are obviously an ass clown that doesn't read into anything before opening their mouth.. Good luck in life

You'd be surprised at the amount of drivers that act like a friggin deer in headlights when they see lights and sirens. If the officer can get past me without using his lights, by all means.

I haven't read this whole post, but has anyone mentioned that these people get shot at for a living? And they are usually pretty outgunned, remember the bank robbery in LA.

Well if a cop with his wife, and kid in the back of the car going 75 in a 40, that pull into a daycare to drop off their kid is considered going to a crime scene then I'll stop here. For me to list everytime I see a cop using his power beyond what is considered purposeful would take some time.. Im not saying Im perfect, nor did I say I obey every law.. It's just that saying that police officers are setting examples for everyone else is a far cry from the truth.

I agree, there are some who care about the work they do and put a lot of effort into their work. There are some who would not want to do anything else. But there are a few who are just there on payday for a pay check and they will stoop to any level to make extra money. A criminal can spot people like that easily.
Itā??s the same in the military or anywhere else. Look at all of the spies who have sold secrets and got caught. I could name a quite a few like the admiral and his son who got caught a few years ago. The military has the highest standards and most people in the military do their job the best they can. There are still those who would spy or sell secrets for money. Some even get caught.
I don't know the exact percentage but I would guess less than 1%. That is still too many.

In his patrol car?
If so, would it bother you as much if it was Joe Schmo in his Accord?
Like I said, do cops speed? Sure, some do. And? If they truly are driving reckless and have no reason other than they want to drive fast, then shame on them. Hopefully it will be brought to their attention before something serious happens. But to be furious because they speed and you don't or can't? Come on.

My neighbor is a cop... I went and talked to him one day while he was driving by.... He wasnt wearing a seatbelt.. so i asked why.... He has the choice to wear one or not... I couldnt help but ask why its not required... Since he might have to jump out of his car at any time he doesnt wear one...For example on his night shift he got a call of an aggravated man threatining to kill himself.. he was sitting in his 4 year olds room and put a shot gun down his throat.. pulled the trigger... this was aft er a 3 hour stand off with cops trying to talk him down... Now think if the cops wouldnt have been there and his son to walk into the room.... A little off topic but honestly I dont care if cops speed or not.. Next time they might be speeding to get to that house where that next crazy man is so his children dont walk in on his corpes...
just my take on it-

I agree but when they speed they are putting other peopleā??s lives in danger. Most of the time it is some drunken person making a fool out of their selves. I don't think that is worth putting other peopleā??s lives in danger. A drunk will always cause problems.
I saw a cop tackle a drunk. The drunk fought and fought so the police officer grabbed him by the testicles and told the man he would cut his testicles out if he did not stop fighting. The drunk quit fighting and the police officer handcuffed him. There are a lot of drunks where I live and they love to fight and cause problems when they get drunk.
