That's a signal of an inconsiderate driver you say? How? He's turning into his own driveway! The only thing he can cause damage to is his own property.
Not using your turn signal means the driver is possibly drunk you say? Tell me this is the reason she is stationed in a neighborhood, and I'll tell you that she needs to move. What good is catching a drunk driver when he has already reached his house and won't be back on the road? Why not move to a congested part of road where there is a REAL danger to other drivers.
Sorry, but a more fitting traffic stop would be pulling him over for lack of signal when he is leaving his home, not returning.
On the job they are known as chicken shiot violations, or CSVs. They are legitimate violations of the motor vehicle code, and often allow officers to make a stop (investigation for criminal activity).
So, once again, we are faced with the idea that if you can somehow make it home, you are "safe"? Didn't you play that game as a child? Never grew out of it, huh? The everage DUI violator commits the offense 80 times a year. So maybe if the next one makes it to his/her driveway, I should just let them go and hope they don't kill themselves/someone else next time? yeah, right....
I bust each and every DUI I find. Best bust so far was a .092. I love the .08 limit. Highest has been a .27. Don't want to get caught, then don't drive drunk, it's that simple- though I suspect some people will never get it.
