I'm going to attempt to fab. some cadillac style tail lights. I think it would look awesome.. Any ideas/tips/preferences. I don't know if I should use red or white l.e.d.'s due to the already-red lens. Suggestions?

which model car do you have, and what is the overall look you are going with? If it's a performance set up, go with the white bulbs keeping the red lense. If you are going 'rice' then go clear with red bulbs. My opinion... go with the clear bulbs, and the red lense.

i don't want to make a performance look or ricer look. If you've seen the newer cadillacs, their tail lights are very, er, nice/bright/turn on quick, and they're LEDs. They look very cool. I would be keeping the red lens, with either the white or red LEDs. I just don't know if you'll be able to see the white through the lens, because I don't want that.

Awhile back someone posted a link to their website showing how they had doctored the back of the stock lenses to incorporate some round "truck/trailer" LED's which seemed to show through the red lenses pretty well. I can't recall who it was (having a brain cramp.)

Ha! Found it! Check out http://josch.wilksfamily.com/LEDandMarker/LEDretrofit.htm

Thank you search gods.

Those are PIMP. I'd never thought about that kind of mod to the brake lights. Although, I have tried to dull them a little. IMO those pre 98 tails just jump right out at ya.

God graced us with intelligence, let's use it.

If you need LEDs ask for me...

As for white versus red, go with red, unless you are a chick and don't mind the Pink look. Otherwise red will suit very well. It would take a serious amount of LEDs to do what your talking about. However it can be done.. I give discount on LEDs now when anyone orders 300 plus. I am guessing you might need 400 to 500. Not counting ones you might mess up with. Also many resistors, and a good way of hooking it all up.
