I ask cause you seem to know a whole bunch about car audio, I'm a newbie in the realm of car audio, but audiobahn was the best quality I could get at a bargain price. I've heard a lot of people on sounddomain that hate audiobahn(that don't run them), but everyone I talk to that run's their speakers/amps loves em. Am I missing something? (probably am...)

I dont think its that he hates Audiobahn, I think that its the point that 160db on the dash or Outlaw is IMPOSSIBLE in a stock cabin CRV. Now if he had a ported enclosure and he hit a 160 in the port, then whoopty doo, that means nothing. ALso if they used an Audio Control meter they do have an adjustment to calibrate two meter evenly, this adjusts the mic sensitivity and can boost or cut your spl big time at both extremes of the dial. (I did a 176.1 with the mic on my seat just by slamming my door laugh ) Its another case of the misleading car audio dealers, there are too many boneheads running shops these days.

Now I dont hate Audiobahn, nor am I fanatic of it, I think it looks better then they perform though. Pricewise you cant complain too much about. Would I buy it, probably not, is your brother happy with it, probably yes and thats all that matters.

I agree with nearly everything Knu wrote. I don't hate them, and I do think that they are probably one of the better values in the car audio world. I just try to push the best values I can find. The only problem I have ever had with them is that they tend to overrate their sensitivity and power handling a little bit.

Their amps are very nice and I believe I have recommended them on a number of occassions.

They do have more flash than performance. If they are selling a sub for 150.00 ea, it is going to cost them under 60.00 to produce. In which case, I would rather have it spent on important things like the motor structure than on chrome plated baskets, and fancy interconnects. Then again, i'm a big fan of ugly subs... smile

See the post about car stereo opinions (not saying Dave hates Bahn, he just likes ugleee equipment). wink

Plus, everyone's ears are different. Liking what you bought is all that matters.

Heck, I'll bet there's even somebody out there who loves their Sparkomatic deck and JC Whitney amp powering their 6000w 6x9s.

Ya Seriously, Im the kinda guy that always has something to say, but usually keeps my mouth closed untill I cool down...but i have read so many post where people are hitting in the 150-65 range and Im like what the fook are they thinging...i know that there are some that hit that high so to you i apologize, but like everyone said on here, big deal if ya put the mic in the port and ya hit 160...my friend installs for a store, and he has a corsica...2 alpine r15's in a 10 Cube box, the port is about 6 inches away from you and the speakers almost hit the head rests...he knows what he is going and he has 2 mtx 81000d amps pushing nearly 1800 watts a sub...now he hasn't had his tested but he thinks he will hit 150 realisticly...and i think he can, so some one in a crv pushing 160 in a huge ass cabin like that, hmmm maybe if the box is the back seat...i don't know where im going with this but I guess its almost like when peole are talking about street racing, and how they beat this car, witch is imposible, kinda the same thig here with systems...your not really impressing anyone by lying, especially not me...so y even do it
