IMO, mp3 in any form is a big compromise especially when cd-r's are so cheap, compression=less quality.

I hate Sony audio, well except ES which is good, but very overpriced. So you won't get any compliments on explode from me.

As far as it "overheating" as everyone says is BS. I have had my JVC HU for over 2 years and running 50% volume for a few hours it only gets warm...

next question, i want to make my other 'tour "premium" so i take out the AMP out of the SVT (since it's bypassed) and mount it in there somwhere or whatever right? oh right search function...well i already typed this much so i'm still going 2 post. Respond anyway.

i'd take an explod HU except that I'm not a huge fan of the looks. I've got no issue with their quality.

Adding the Ford "Premium Sound" external amp will actually make the system sound worse. You'd be adding tons of distortion by reducing the input levels for the amp and then re-amplifying with the POS factory amp. A $30 Jensen amp from Wal-Mart would sound better.
