New poster here but have been reading the forums for about a month now, and this a GREAT site, well organized and informative. My '96 GL/Zetec/Auto needs motor and tranny mounts. Did a search here and from what I read the "roll resistors" will have to be OEM type but for the front engine mount (passenger side) I can use the stiffer, or upgraded inserts. The tranny mount (driver side) probably has to be OEM too. I live in a large metroplex so Ford parts dealers are not a problem, but can anyone recommend a cheap online source ? Also what is a normal price for these parts and any special tricks on replacing them. Midas Muffler will do the work for $335.00, I buy the parts. Ouch ! Thanks for any replies

If you check in the Modification Section of the site, you will find three Ford Dealers that except online orders. Welcome aboard!!

If you have a basic set of tools, sockets, etc, you can replace a given mount in about half an hour. It's really not much of a problem. If you're like me, it will take you longer to find your tools and put the car on ramps (only needed for the two roll resistors), than it will to actually replace the mounts.

Thanks for the replies, I got this car fairly cheap so I don't mind working on it. The last motor mount I changed was in 1970 and the price of 'em has gone up a bit since then. Doug

The mounts are easy to change, but you have to support the engine and transmission somehow. The engine can be held from the top with the lifting points. The transmision can be supported with blocks of wood and jack from the bottom. Just do one at a time. Not a big job...just find a good area to support from.
