There is a big, noticeable difference between the two types of insulation. And even then, if you can't tell, a high-tech piece of test equipment known as a cigarette lighter can be used to test whether the insulation is the correct type.




I dunno. I was just throwing another possibility out there. My suggestion seems much more likely than Ford screwing buyers of only two of their models. If they were trying to save cash on this stuff, why wouldn't they do it on the entire line up of cars? Hell, maybe they did, I haven't looked for wiring problems on the rest of the line.
