I had purchased heavy duty, so called long life lamps once from an Auto Parts store here. They cratered about 2 months later so I emailed the Mfg., they sent me a whole box of 10 replacement lamps that week plus a few other goodies for other lights. They told me they had a bad batch of lamps out there and this is to make up for the inconvience.
