I'm from AL and I can tell you a few things for LA (Lower AL). Beaches you have Dauphin Island which is ok. Has a civil war fort there and a few other things. The other beach (and DEFINATELY the better) is Gulf Shores right on the AL/FL border. Beautiful beaches and and the fine southern girls you could want, most of them still in there teens. It's cold there now so you may want to wait until April or later to go there. There are a few tourist things to do in Alabama but if you stay in that particular area then you have New Orleans right by you and you also have the entire Florida pan handle.
