Well, if you just add the SVT car to your insurance and keep the other one as a daily driver it might not be so bad. Mine added about 220 bucks a year to my insurance. I am paying about 1100 a year on my truck, full coverage and I drive a lot of miles. The Contour is my "Sunday driver" so it added very little to my bill. Even though the VIN will give the car away as being from SVT, here in California at least, it's still considered a sedan. I have insurance through GMAC. Maybe California isn't so bad after all! laugh

Insurance shouldn't be that much for an svt, I barely pay anymore than i did for my zx2,(i'm 18). I checked into it, and the rates were cheaper than a v6 mustang

I'm at about $2000 a year.. and I could make it lower but there's a slight problem. I'd have to move out of the city. And well that's not going to happen.

If I lived by cartman, I'd be at $1500 a year.

I'm with Dave.
My SE Sport is costing me $2000/yr with Travelers.
If I went to an SVT, it would only be $200/yr more for me.

You said you parents pay it correct? If so you should keep the car under their name, preferably have one of your parents be the actual title holder of the car. Your rates will much lower this way since your parents have a lot of equity (at least more than you), are older, and all of the other good stuff that insurance companies look at when deciding rates smile I had done this with my GTP before I bought the SVT and it saved me a TON of money.

Just a thought.
