what would you get? I've been looking a '91 thru '94 ford explorers. i've always wanted an explorer, and dont mind buying something with 100k + miles on it.

this thread is about buying a car, not modding something you already own. and remember, theres a $2000 price limit.

Well I have this mystique sitting here doing nothing, so I dont really need another contique.

i've pretty much made my mind up as far as not wanting a car.

i've always wanted a 4x4 of some sort. i've seen some super high mileage '92+ broncos sell in my price range. i dunno....but i know i dont want a gm product

I had 2000 this summer to buy a winter beater with and I went with a 93 Ranger 2 wheel drive. Its alot of fun whipping nuts. I think you are looking for a 4x4 though so maybe you shoudl go with a explorer.

so is this just an open ended "what if" type of question?
or are you looking for a certain time of vehicle and looking for feedback?

personally i'd probably get an old pickup truck so i can haul crap around

I PERSONALLY, would get an old Buick. They hold up forever, and you'll have a comfortable ride. I had a '91 Regal GS for 3 yrs, and that thing just ran and ran. Good gas milage, no problems... Many are G-pa cars, which means they are taken car of. The re-sale value on them is just low. Even if you look at the new ones, they don't hold any value, despite the reliability they have. I was told by someone that the % of problems on them is less than that of a Mercedes.

For that much money, I'd be lookin' for any GM car with a 3800 V6, period. I take it your looking for reliable transportation, right
