If they asked me what kind I would say "coke classic, thanks"
In Australia, all soda/pop is classified as "soft-drink", so they ask kids over there if they want a "soft-drink" or the specific drink itself, i.e. Do you want a Coke/Pepsi/Fanta/Sprite etc, and if you say yes, then that's what you'll get.
Shhh!!! Just sit there and look pretty!
tired of the bs

What about Tonic! That's the Boston way.

You want some Jimmy's with that?
Haha!
I very rarely hear "tonic". When I first heard it I thought it was alcoholic carbonated water or something; I think I was ten or so.
And as for jimmies ... those go on ice cream! forgot about that one

We call it pop here in ND, only other thing I've ever heard it called is soda. But I think the other names are different, the whole Coke is a brand idea is what I think.

Yep, pretty much the way it is. On a side note, I still don't understand why there is no sweet tea up north.
Yep, Southerners call it all Coke... And it's very hard to find sweet tea here, especially in restaurants.
