Definitely pop. Soda reminds me too much of Billy Madison. It also sounds very old fashioned to me. Janitor: "Billy likes soduh." The whole "Coke for everything thing" seems kinda stupid.

The issue is that Coke is a brand name, so they must interpret it as such. Some people prefer Pepsi over Coke, others Coke over Pepsi (and some hate one or the other and adamently refuse to have it) .. that's why they have to ask. If you ask for a 'cola' and they question if Pepsi is okay, then they're nuts.
As for me .. it's soda. Pop sounds like a drug, Coke is a brand name, and fountain drink has way too many syllables, haha.
Now, about 'bubbler' or 'water fountain', it's been bubbler and always will be no matter where I might live!

Its not a F'n bubbler! Man too many people from WIS call it that and get laughed at. Water fountains ok, I even use it sometimes, but I still think drinking fountain is the most accurate!

Soda here. I've never heard anyone in Southern Cali call it anything but that. I always make fun of my relatives in Colorado that call it pop, sounds so strange and old to me. I always thought it was just a local colloquialism up there

What about Tonic! That's the Boston way.
