hey i was wondering if someone who has removed their svt bumper can give me some directions on where all the screws might be located and how many and etc.... any help would be great... i got into an accident this morning and blew out my passanger headlight, bent my hood, and cracked the bracket that the lights and the top grill screw into. In order for me to replace the bracket i need to take the top of the bumper cover off. I would greatly appreciate anyones help.

Thanks,
Nomi

theres two small hex screws iirc holding in the wheel well molding. Take those off so you can pull back the wheel well black plastic and get to the 2 bolts on each side of the fender. Youll need a pretty big extension since its pretty hard to get to. I cant remember what size the bolts are.

Going on what you have said I'd say at least $2000.

haha im guessin your just kidding right? because ive already bought all the parts i need.... junk yard but whatever, cost me 140 for a hood, headlight, and the bracket for the headlight and grill... all i have to do is get the hood painted... but as for right now all i wanna do is get the bracket for the lights installed so at least i can drive my car, especially at night.

Heh, I just hit a dear about a month ago and have basicly the SAME problem. Err, had. Took out that headlight mounting thinger, and my turn signal and hood, but bashed up my fender a bit too.

Anyway, once you get that bumper off, its a peice of cake to replace.

On my 96 SE, its probably diffferent, but there where too retaining devices below the grill on the top of the bumper cover, and a total of 4 bolts that connect the bumper to the fenders, 2 bolts on each side. IIRC they are 8mm. Like they said, you'll want to unbolt the fender well covers enough to get behind them to get to the two bolts. Once you get them off, the bumper just slides off the front of the car. The headlight bracket is easy to get to then.

its cool thanks for the advice, i just ended up taking it to a body shop. They charged me 150 to put the headlight bracket in, put the headlight and my grill back in, even tho they had to do some custom screw jobs.... now all thats left is my hood they told me 400 for it painted and put on.
