Heh, I just hit a dear about a month ago and have basicly the SAME problem. Err, had. Took out that headlight mounting thinger, and my turn signal and hood, but bashed up my fender a bit too.
Anyway, once you get that bumper off, its a peice of cake to replace.
On my 96 SE, its probably diffferent, but there where too retaining devices below the grill on the top of the bumper cover, and a total of 4 bolts that connect the bumper to the fenders, 2 bolts on each side. IIRC they are 8mm. Like they said, you'll want to unbolt the fender well covers enough to get behind them to get to the two bolts. Once you get them off, the bumper just slides off the front of the car. The headlight bracket is easy to get to then.
